Both DaEun and JiHeon have had a busy month of July. They have accompanied the family in walking trips around town, swimming at the river, and seeing "Fantastic Four", a popular summer movie.

지헌이와 다은이는 매우 바뿌게 7월을 보냈습니다. 식구들과 도시근교를
걷는 행사에 동참하였고 강에서 수영을 즐겼으며 재미있는 여름 특선영화 '팬타스틱 4'를 보았습니다.

JiHeon is an accomplished reader, and is working his way through the Tree House series of books that the family has. These are wonderful books that enable children to learn about history and geography in an entertaining way.
지헌이는 독서를 즐기고 있습니다. 집에있는 트리하우스 시리즈 물을 독파하고 있습니다. 이책은 아이들에게 역사,지리등을 배우면서 재미있게 읽을수 있는 좋은 책입니다.

DaEun will sometimes reads as well, and is understanding what she is reading although sometimes the words are difficult for her. JiHeon loves to eat, and is willing to at least try new foods that the family presents him with.
다은이도 가끔 읽곤 한답니다. 조금은 다은이에게 어려운 부분도 있지만 잘 이해 하고 있답니다. 지헌이는 뭔가 먹어보는것을 좋아하네요. 가족들이 새로운 음식을 선보이면 조금씩은 다 시식을 해 보곤한답니다.

After JiHeon tries a new food, DaEun will try it as well, and so JiHeon is very helpful in acting as the leader of the two siblings.
지헌이가 새로운 음식을 시식하면 다은이도 덩달아 조금 먹어보곤하여 지헌이는 누나에게도 많은 도움이 되고 있답니다.

JiHeon and Gig are fast friends, and have a lot of fun making up games to play around the house, and jumping on the trampoline. Both boys are playing soccer in August. JiHeon is especially appreciated by the host parents as he is very helpful around the house, doing chores and helping when needed without having to be asked.

지헌과 Gig는 아주 친한 친구로서 집 주위에서 아주 재미난 게임을 하고 놀며 트램폴린에서 졈프를 하고 즐겁게 지난답니다. 지헌이가 특별히 가족들을 감동시키는 것은 항상 누가 시키지 않더라도 허드??일들과 집안일들을
도와 주는 것이랍니다. 그래서 가족들이 항상 지헌이에게 감사하게 생각하고 있답니다.
DaEun continues to love doing crafts. DaEun will be attending an art camp for the month of August. She has started working on a daily journal and has encouraged JiHeon to do one as well. She went to another Korean student's birthday party and slept there overnight. The host mother told them that as there were other girls there, the Korean girls would have to speak English the entire evening, and they managed very well.
다은이는 미술공예를 좋아 합니다 8월에는 미술 캠프에 갈겁니다. 다은이는 영어일기를 쓰기 시작했고 지헌이에게도 쓰라고 권하고 있답니다.
다은이는 다른 한국학생(아마 민지겠죠?)생일파티에 가서 자고 왔답니다. 홈스테이 엄마 애기로 그녀들은 다른 캐네디언 친구가 있어서 계속적으로 영어로 애기를 하고 전혀 문제 없이 잘 대화를 이끌어 가곤 하였답니다.

In fact, DaEun and JiHeon are speaking English to each other all of the time now.
사실은 다은이와 지헌이도 항상 영어로 애기 하고 지낸답니다.

The family has just returned from a wonderful week- long trip to Penticton in the interior of British Columbia where they visited grandparents. The weather was hot and sunny, and the children went swimming several times each day. They travelled to Kelowna where they visited a large arcade and enjoyed electronic games, and in Penticton, they played minigolf, and a game of "bumper boats" spraying water at each other in a pond.
가족들은 할아버지 할머니를 방문하여 캐나다의 명소 펜틱톤에서 지난주를 재미있게 지냈답니다. 날씨가 덥고 했볕은 강하여 아이들은 매일 여러번씩 수영을 하고 아름다운 켈로나의 대형 아케이드에서 켬퓨터 게임도 하였습니다. 펜틱턴에서는 미미골프,범버보트,연못에서 서로 물싸음을 하면서 지냈답니다.

They floated down a channel between Okanogan Lake and Skahah Lake, went out for dinner with relatives, and enjoyed eating fresh peaches and cherries. They returned to Courtenay tired but relaxed and happy.
그들은 오카나간 호수와 샤카이 호수사이를 통하는 수로를 타고 친척집에 가서 저녁식사를 하고 싱싱한 복숭아,체리를 대접받고 하였습니다. (그곳은 과일농장으로 유명한 명소입니다) 피곤한 몸으로 코트니로 돌아왔지만 행복하고 즐거운 경험이 었습니다.

An unfortunate incident happened in Penticton where DaEun hit Gig several times. The host parents took DaEun aside and explained to her very sternly that they do not allow hitting of people in their house. She has not done anything like that since, and so the family is hoping that it was a one time occurrence.
불행히도 펜틱턴에서 다은이가 지그를 여러번 때리는 사건이 있었습니다. 홈스테이 마미가 다은이를 따로 불러 아주 강한 톤으로 여기서는 누구를 때리는 것은 절대 안된다고 꾸짓었습니다. 다은이가 이런 행동을 한것은 이번이 처음이 었고 이것이 한번의 해프닝이길 바란답니다.

The family is looking forward to celebrating DaEun's thirteenth birthday with her in a few days. We hope to see her and JiHeon sometime next week and to hear of their summer experiences from them. Meanwhile, we are reassured by Chris and Gig that the children are both doing very well and enjoying their summer with the family.

가족들은 다은이의 13번째 생일 파티를 고대하고 있답니다. 우리도(히드와 가브리엘 부부) 지헌이와 다은를 그때는 볼수 있을것 같고 그러면 그때 그들이 겪었던 여름방학의 경험담을 들을수 있을겁니다. 우리가 다시한번 지그와 크리스 에게서 확인 한바로는 이 두 남매는 그 가족들과 이번 여름 방학을 아주 즐겁고 잘 지내고 있다는 내용이 었습니다.
