안녕하세요?
학기제는 1년을 두학기로 나누어 한학기 4과목을 마치고 다음학기에 나머지 4과목을 공부하는 형태를 말합니다.
한국의 경우는 대부분 학년제로 진행 되지만 캐나다 미국은 학기제로 많이 운영하여 왔습니다.
학기제는 단기간에 성적을 내야하기 때문에 많은 기회가 있는것이 아니다 보니 성적관리가 어려운반면, 길게 계속 공부를 해야 한다는 점에서 학생으로서의 부담은 많은 편이죠.
단지 한학기만 하려는 학생이나 한학기 조기졸업을 하려는 경우에는 불리할 수 있습니다.

Comox Valley International Changes School Schedules
The Comox Valley School District has traditionally been a semester based school district. That is, students study 4 classes in the first semester (September - February) and 4 classes in the second semester (February - June). Starting in the 2015-16 school year, there will be a change at some grade level's to a "linear" school year (8 courses from September - June).
