안녕하세요?
보고서를 적시에 보내 드리지 못하여 일단 홈페이지에 올려봅니다.
이름은 지우겠지만 아마 짐작은 가실겁니다.
Hye – is doing okay at school and really well with Ingrid as her tutor. Ingrid is very helpful in getting Hye Won to understand grammar so that Hye Won’s writing skills improve. However, English 12 is very difficult and the teacher and Ingrid feel that Hye Won will not pass the final exam. Therefore, Mr. Machado has enrolled her in Communications English 12. Hye told Mr. Machado that she doesn’t want to write this exam as she will have to change her flight home. It is really important that Hye Won write this test because if she doesn’t and she fails English 12, then she will not have enough credits to graduate and will not be accepted to university. Please change her flight home to be anytime after June 24, 2010.
쉽지는 않은 과정이지만 열심히 하였고 마지막 관문만 통과하면 무난히 지금 합격한 미국대학에 진학이 가능한것 같습니다. 진심으로 축하하고 부디 훌륭한 사람이 되기 바라요.
Ken – continues to do the minimal amount of work but loves to dress well and be stylish. If he worked harder there would be a different result for him in school but he seems more intent on fashion and socializing than schooling. He is a delightful young man to be around as he loves to chat and has a good sense of humor.
이제 학년이 올라가면서 공부에 조금 더 몰두해 주기 바랍니다. 항상 주위사람들을 기쁘게 해주는 매력이 있어 모두들 좋아한답니다.
Dan – just saw him today and talked with his Science teacher. She is very surprised at the turn around for Dan. He has all of his science assignments handed in and now everything comes in on time. His tutor has been very good for him and they are making significant progress to help his comprehension of functional English so that he can understand what is going on in class. I see him frequently at the fitness center working out and he tells me that he wants to lose weight but I tell him that he looks very fit and healthy now and shouldn’t try to lose more weight.
멋쟁이고 이제 공부도 열심히 한다고 하네요. 이제 얼마 남지 않은기간 열심히 해서 충분한 보람을 가지도록 하세요.
Min – I saw Min Gim at school yesterday and his teachers reported to me that he is trying in class and making better progress. He has many Canadian friends and his English is improving every day. He works well with his tutor and she is impressed by his diligence during their sessions. His teachers reported that he was behind in some areas of homework completion to me a month ago but that has improved now.
잘 지내고 열심히 하고 있는것 같아요. 숙제도 잘하고 무엇보다 얌전하면서도 현지캐네디언 친구를 많이 사귀는 것이 좋아 보여요.
Conan – I saw him at school today – he is speaking English very well and his teacher says that he is making very good progress – especially in Math and English. He really likes his sessions with Ingrid and he told me she is helping him a lot. He loves his homestay family and they treat him as though he has always been with them.
나이에 비해 쉽지 만은 않을텐데 너무 잘 하고 있네요. 어린나이다 보니 영어도 아주 많이 늘었는데 단지 아직 영어스펠이 자꾸 틀리네요. 말은 잘하지만 이제 영어 공부도 좀 더 해야 할것 같아요.
Ga – has just received another scholarship from the University of Alberta – now the total is $15,000 as they really want her to attend their university. This is an honor for Ga as this is an excellent university in the field of Sciences. Ga came to the Wildlife Center with us last week and she smiled a lot and seemed to be so happy.
힘들고 어려운 유학생활이지만 성공적으로 마쳐 누구보다도 자랑스러울 거예요. 이제 멋진 대학생이 되어서도 열심히 해서 부디 훌륭한 사람이 되어주길 바라요.
Lauren – I see Lauren at school almost every Thursday and she is doing very well. We talked a lot about how to make friends as she really wanted a friend. I gave her some ideas and explained to her that she was at the adjustment level of 3 and once she got to 4 she would be very happy. When I saw her 2 weeks ago she immediately told me that she was at stage 4 and had a close friend. Around her neck was a beautiful silver necklace given to her by her close Canadian friend. Lauren was so happy. When I saw her again last week she told me that she had given her friend a gift as well and that they hung out together all of the time and talked a lot about many things. When Lauren came her she felt that her status as in Korea would make students come to her to be friends. But I explained that in Canadian culture, if she is approached once and acts like she doesn’t care to be friends, then the Canadians will not always try again because they think they are bothering the person. So, Lauren has had to put aside her old ways and embrace new ones – they are working for her now and she is so happy.
고맙다 로렌..너무 잘 지내 주어서. 영어 뿐만 아니라 삶의 철학을 터득해 나가는것 같아 좋아 보인다. 이젠 선배로서 다른학생들을 도와 주어야 할 차려가 다가 오는구나..
Bae – I just love this young man. He is so honest, so much fun to work with because he tries so hard, and so easy to talk to and spend time with. He works hard to improve his pronunciation and vocabulary when I work with him and his ability to speak English has improved so much that I am delighted. I told him that he is learning faster than all of the other International students at LVR because he is speaking only English each day to everyone around him. His math teacher really likes him too and has made sure that the counselor arranges for Bae to have really good courses for next year. The Art teacher really appreciates Bae as well and says that he has brought a really great element to her class as he loves to draw and do the projects she asks of him enthusiastically – he is such a delight in our program.
다재다능한 우리친구..선생님이 널 사랑하게되어 큰일이구나...ㅎㅎ.
이 템포를 잃지말고 꾸준히 해서 몸은 비록 힘들지만 마음에 행복이 가득한 학교생활이 되기 바란다.
Gianna – I saw her in Salmo yesterday – she has a cold and runny nose due to her allergies. Other than that – she is doing well in school. She likes her homestay and is really liking school. She has been with Sue and her sister on outings almost each weekend and this has really been fun for all of them. The principal of the school is going to take the two girls out for dinner one evening to Trail as she really enjoys the girls in the school and says they are such a nice addition to the culture of the school.
캐나다가 봄에 식물이 많고 건조하여 알러지가 생겼구나. 날씨가 풀리면서 좀 낳아 질거야. 너무 귀엽고 영리한 우리학생들을 보고 싶구나.6월초에 만나자..
Ji – Ji Sun showed me a picture of abstract Art that she did in her class – it was beautiful. I will get a picture of it when I am there next and send it to you. She is very happy at Sue Bakken’s home and says that she is really finding the tutor sessions to be extremely helpful in helping her overall understanding of English. I told her that we will have an activity session on Saturday in Nelson to climb a wall and she asked if she could go to see a movie again as she really enjoyed the movie last week.
힘들지만 잘 견뎌주고 좋은 성적 자랑해도 될것 같구나. 이제 조금 빠른템포로 공부에 치중할 수 있도록 조정을 하려한단다. 아마 잘 견뎌낼거야. 남들보다 늦게 온것이 많이 부담이 되겠지만 지금 같은 템포라면 무난히 원하는 목표를 이룰 수 있을것 같구나.
Amie – Amie is doing extremely well in Art class and has settled down in her other classes as well and is now handing in all of her homework assignments. The art teacher tells me she is one of the strongest students in the class with a great deal of talent. I have attached some of her projects for you to look at. She is happy in her family and they love her, especially the little ones who cry when she comes home late because they miss her but they are learning that Amie has friends outside of the home – too cute.
선생님이 너무 좋아하시는것 아닌가? 엄마아빠 질투 내실것 같은데. 아마 목표한것 보다 많은걸 얻었고, 경험햇고, 그리고 장래에 도움이 될것 같구나. 1년이란 기간이 너의 인생에 가장 중요한 영향을 준 기간이라 믿어지도록 마무리를 잘 하길 바란다.
Gi – has done extremely well with his soccer start and we are all really happy about this as perhaps this will help him to relax and smile. He doesn’t speak much but his tutoring sessions are helping him to improve. I saw him at school with a camera and he asked to take a picture of me for a project he was working on for his class. I agreed and we laughed.
선생님이 아직 너위 멋진 사진을 안 보내 주었구나. 아마 아드님 결혼식이 너무 바뿌신 모양이야. 이제 이번 첫학기도 너무나 빨리 흘러 한달 정도 남았구나. 마지막 시험 잘 치르기 바란다. 과학은 선생님께 말씀드려 한학년 월반하여 11학년으로 바로 가기로 하였으니 방학때 나올때 책 준비해서 에습이라도 좀 하렴. 건강하게 지내..
Se – had an excellent report card – as high as many Canadian students and higher than all of the other international students at the school. She enjoys her homestay sister and together they do a lot. Se Rim does have her own friends at school and this is a good thing as well. She really enjoys her cooking class and she also enjoyed the movie night. She is excited about the year end trip and I know that she will have such a great time as she has many good friends and they will all stay together in a room.
아빠가 사진보고 몸무게 걱정이시란다..어쪄냐? 많이 어른스러워 지기도하고. 미국졸업여행 잘 다녀오고 좋은 경험 많이 가져오기 바란다.
Yoon – I see Alex at school each Thursday and he is making a great deal of improvement overall with his behavior and desire to learn. I have sent you a picture of him and a classmate in which we made pitzelle cookies together and then we wrote about this experience. By doing this it creates better writing skill because the experience helps them to learn new words and then use them in writing.
이젠 영어로 말하기가 문제가 아니고 쓰기를 하고 있네. 집에서 학교에서 잘 지내주니 고마워. 열심히 놀고, 열심히 공부하고, 좋은 친구 많이 만들기 바란다.
Ye – is doing well – school is getting easier for her and she is dressing with pride and carrying her head up proudly instead of always looking down to the ground. She seems to have a real inner peace and happiness with herself and her teachers report to me that she is delightful to have in class.
한국학생들은 대체로 너무 머리를 숙이고 다니는것 같아. 자신만만하게 꼿꼿이 머리를 들고 이제 한국이 아닌 세계를 내려다 보면서 목표한 바를
이룰 수 있도록 노력하기 바란다. 건강하게 이번 학기 마무리 잘하기 바래.
빠진 학생들도 섭섭하게 생각하지 말기 바래요. 너무 잘 지내고 있어 레프트할 내용이 거의 없어서 그래요. 물론 개인적으로 알려드리기도 하지만
없다고 관심이 없는 건 아니랍니다.
암튼 마지막 기말 시험까지 건강하게 잘 지내서 좋은 성적 유지하기바래요.
졸업하는 학생이든 방학을 마지하는 학생이든 이제 1달 정도 남은 기간
지금 상태를 유지하고 잘 지내기 바라요.
학기말 슬럼프가 오는 학생이 있을거예요. 마음을 놓아서 오는 현상이니까 마지막까지 긴장을 풀지 말아 주기 바래요. |
