3월중순은 캐나다 학교의 봄방학입니다.
약 1주일 동안의 방학은 긴 겨울 동안 방학없이 공부한 학생들에게 짜릿한
휴식 기간이 되곤 한답니다.
아래는 밴쿠버 근교 코목스에서 2학기째 유학하고 있는 중1 여학생인 다솔이의 3월 유학 보고서를 고지함으로서 유학생활의 일면을 보고져 합니다.

Dasol has had a wonderful month participating in several new
activities. She has joined the field hockey team at school and
reported having fun playing this sport very much.

다솔이는 3월 동안 여러가지 활동에 참가하면서 즐거운 한달을 보냈습니다.
학교에서 필드하키팀에 가입하여 활동하면서 아주 재미있고 즐거운 스포츠라고 하였답니다.

She has started piano lessons for half an hour once a week and is excelling in her lessons. Dasol has enjoyed having her friends over for a sleepover and was invited to sleepover at a friends home as well.
일주일에 한번 한시간 반씩 피아노를 배우고 있는데 아주 잘 하고 있답니다. 이번 달에는 캐나다 여자친구를 집에 데려와 자기도 하고 친구 집에 가서 자고 오기도 하였답니다.

She also has gone swimming with her friends. She participated in a dinner party and bowling night with other International Students and their host siblings and seemed to enjoy the evening.

여자친구들이랑 수영장에도 갔었고, 국제학생들과 홈스테이 자매들과 더불어 볼링을 겸한 저녁파티에 가서도 즐겁게 지냈답니다.

Dasol travelled to Vancouver for a weekend to visit Cousen Family
relatives, including new twin boy and girl cousins. She spent an
afternoon at a beach while there and thoroughly enjoyed exploring the
waterfront.
주말에는 홈스테이 가족의 사촌,쌍둥이 아이들과 여자 사촌이 있는 밴쿠버의 사촌집을 방문하였답니다. 그날 오후 해변가에 가서 한나절을 즐겁게 지냈답니다.
She enjoyed swimming in the Motel pool and relaxing in the hotub. She also travelled to Nanaimo to watch a volleyball tournament that her host sister, Ashley, participated in.

모텔 수영장에서 수영을 즐겼고, 핫탑을 즐기기도 하였답니다. 홈스테이 언니 애쉴리가 참석하는 배구시합을 보러 나나이모에 다녀 오기도 하였습니다.
Dasol enthusiastically cheered on her host sister's team and interacts well with the other girls on the team. While in Nanaimo for the tournament, Dasol went shopping for new clothes, had breakfasts at Tim Horton's, went to see a movie at a theatre, visited the town's library, participated in a craft class at a craft store, went skating, and visited two pet stores.

다솔이는 열심히 언니팀을 응원하면서 다른 학생들과도 잘 어울리곤 하였답니다. 나나이모에서 쇼핑을 하면서 새옷을 삿고, 팀호돈에서 점심을 먹고, 영화관에서 영화도 보고, 도서관도 구경하고, 공예품 가계에 들러 공예품 만드는 방법도 배우고, 스케이팅을 하고 나서 애완견 가계 구경도 하였답니다.

Skating was a highlight for Dasol. She was thrilled with this activity and is very keen to start skating lessons at the beginning of April.
스케이팅이 가장 재미 있었는데 4월부터 스케이팅을 배우려 한답니다.

Dasol received her second term report card and did very well in all
subjects. Her grades have enabled her name to be placed on the honour
roll. This is a great achievement of which she should be proud of!
Dasol participated in a Fun Day at school and reported that she
especially enjoyed the hip hop dance activities.

다솔이가 이번에 두번째 텀(1년은 4 텀으로 나뉘어짐) 성적표를 받았습니다. 모든 과목에 아주 우수하게 나왔답니다. 중1에서 우등생으로 다솔이의 이름이 학교에 고시되었답니다. 다솔이의 이러한 성과는 짧은 기간에 다솔이가 이룬 가히 자랑할 만한 큰 성과입니다. 학교에서 주최하는 Fun day행사에 참석하여서는 힙합댄스를 선 보였답니다.

The Cousens continue to enjoy hosting Dasol and are looking forward to the Spring months and sharing more outdoor activities with her.

홈스테이 가족은 다솔이와 함께 있는것이 즐겁고 봄동안에도 더 많은 활동을 계획하고 있답니다.
